The Gunflint Trail
The trail that makes up the Gunflint Trail in northern Minnesota. This is the first time I’ve been on the Gunflint Trail after hearing about it for a long time. There are a lot of moose crossing signs and moose lookouts, however my moose sightings are still at an unimpressive zero.

Dogsledding: When in Minnesota, do what ‘Sotans do
This weekend Katie and I hit the road up the north shore of Minnesota to spend the weekend in Grand Marais. Part of the trip was dedicated to the Gunflint trail and the Bearskin lodge to go dog sledding. I had no idea what to expect but it was pretty much amazing. All the dogs were very well taken care of by our expert musher, Erik, and very excited to pull us around for a little while.

Master musher and all around awesome guy, Erik Simula, was our guide on this dog sledding adventure. Here I was able to snap a picture of all three of us while flying across a frozen lake. It’s great to see that he’s having just as much fun as we are. This is a man who truly loves his job.

Minneapolis Snow Storm: Part 2
The first big snowfall of the season hit Minneapolis yesterday and Katie and I layered up to explore around downtown. Here is the second post of my two-poster feature of Minneapolis’ first big snowfall of the season.
Hope you enjoy them and stay warm, everybody.
Like the post office – but with better uniforms – we deliver tees in rain, sleet and snow.

Not a bad day to have your engagement pictures taken
