Whiskey, Bacon And A Really Delicious Steak

My friend Dave and I have been talking about eating at Keen’s Steakhouse forever. It took 10 months for us to get there, but we finally made it last Saturday when Katie and I met up with Dave and his wife, Tammie. Dave and I split the porterhouse for two cooked black and blue – because that’s how a man eats his steak.

Keen’s is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in New York. The restaurant is dark & old with dead animals hanging on the walls and the scotch list is three solid pages. Although it’s quite spendy – the atmosphere and food made it worth every penny.

Knob Creek on the rocks

When we got to the restaurant we grabbed a spot at the bar and waited for our table. I completely ignored the massive selection of scotch on the other side of the bar and ordered a Knob Creek which was stashed off to the side. It’s my go to drink, but I wish I would have started off with a nice scotch, perhaps a Macallan 18, it’s what they are known for anyway.

Bacon

Bacon and two baby tomatoes. This is what Jesus orders for an appetizer.
